Operation Pretty: Martha's Spice Rack

We received this Martha Stewart spice rack for our wedding. But I REALLY wanted this baby:
But Martha's rack grew on me. Martha's rack. Haha. Anway, I like the little jars, just not the light wood.

So, I painted it. I think I might have made it look worse. Cause the picture above doesn't look so bad to me anymore.

Oh well, this will do.

I like it a lot better too. Light woods can look so cheap--even when they're not.

I like it painted. This is crazy, you may think I am a blogpost copycat when you read my next post... I am now taking a break from reorganizing our spices and baby cabinet. I am just waiting for Mr. Hughes to print out my labels! We used to have a similar test tube spice rack (not the Dean and Deluca, it was too expensive at the time, but I love it too!) but it was too small.

I like both the dark and light colors on the spice rack. I don't think you made a bad choice in painting it at all! It matches much better now than it would have before. And Martha would be proud of you for tweaking it until it fit. :)

The dark is my favorite...especially in your kitchen.

I think the dark colour looks nice. I am getting so many wonderful inspirations from reading these DIY makeovers posts. They fi nally gave me the courage to go ahead and try out some things. Don't know if the end result will look good enough to post about through.

I think it looks brilliant....and no one will have one like yours....I have to say that I love the test tube rack (!!) but, i think that yours is more practical. I wouldn't be wanting to fiddle with those corks everytime I was trying to rustle up some culinery delight !!! XXXX

Hello Susan - I like Martha's rack too. LOL. I like it even better that you've painted it black! Nice job. Looks so fabulous sitting on your counter. Oh, and I love your seltzer bottle.

Blessings,
